This Job Is Done

Recently Spring Rains Developments (SRD) completed it agreement with its Indonesian partners One Heart Foundation (OHF) in eastern Lombok to finance the construction of a Drip-Irrigation DemoPlot. 

It was agreed that if OHF purchased a plot of land then SRD would fund the cost of:

• Converting the land to drip irrigation,

• Equipping the property with the necessary amenities,

• The construction of a building to house the DemoPlot’s manager and a store to provide   tools for the local farming community.

The pictures tell the story – the job is done.

The farm is now a marketing portrait for Drip-Irrigation in the drought-plagued area of eastern Lombok.  Its lush crops are producing yields that are exponentially larger than the typical crop grown in the area.

The farm is also acting as a research station to discover ways to both guard against disease and pestilence and increase the farmer’s yields.

Over and above this the farm’s store will market seeds and tools at a reasonable cost to the local farmers. 

In the meantime Spring Rains is investigating its next involvement in the Developing World.
